Optical Brightners

PTMB Optical Brighteners are specifically used for imparting whiteness and brightness to the plastic products without any bluer tone. It is also called fluorescent whitening agents. It works via a fluorescent mechanism which absorbs light in the UV spectrum and emits light in the blue region of visible.

PTMB laser additives work by absorbing the laser energy and causing some localized heating for very short period. This creates a dark mark obtained from the burning or charring on the surface or a light mark obtained when the laser causes the polymer to foam.
